Welcome to day 5 of our 7 Day Slice Eliminator!
If you are looking to fix your slice quickly you have come to the right place! In case you missed the first 4 lessons, you can find those here:
In today’s lesson we are going to talk about having a rounded backswing.
A common mistake I see is golfers “snatching” the club back quickly with their driver. This tends to create a very steep swing plane with little shoulder turn. The end result is usually a slice and a loss of power.
If you are a “snatcher,” you can fix your slice by having a more rounded swing that delivers the club into the impact zone from the inside. To do this you’ll want to focus on 2 things.
First, you want to keep the club low to the ground on the takeaway. This will prevent you from snatching the club back with your hands and arms.
Second, you want to focus on rotating your right shoulder as you take the club back. (Left shoulder for lefties!)
